jane iredale—The Skin Care Makeup® launched Global Beauty, an extension of their global palette designed specifically for women of color at a star-studded VIP event held at the penthouse of Loft Eleven in New York City.
The October 19, 2006 event highlighted several new foundation shades and a color palette tailored specifically for women of Mediterranean, African American, Latina, Indian and Asian ethnicity. The new collection was showcased by models emulating icons who had a major influence on style. Seven models were transformed into Aishwarya Rai, Ziyi Zhang (Memoirs of a Geisha), Diana Ross, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Dorothy Dandridge and Sophia Loren. Hair styling was by JOICO.
To celebrate this first in cosmetics history, Jane Iredale, Founder and President of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics presented the models, “I created this line because everyone deserves a healthy skin,” says Iredale. “Now everyone can enjoy the quality of superior cosmetics with skincare benefits.”
Attendees dined on wine and champagne provided by Kluge Estate; rich, decadent chocolates provided by Chocolate Springs, based in Lenox, MA; oxygenated water by OGO and a towering chocolate fountain provided by Xttras.
VIP celebrity makeup artists and editor attendees from Vogue, Allure, Blueprint, CBS, ABC and others received an exclusive gift bag, which included products from the new jane iredale Global Beauty Collection, JOICO hair care, Kluge Estate, OGO, Chocolate Springs, Human Beenz apparel, Epionce skincare, Sprayology oral homeopathic sprays, JUVA MediSpa, Blair Delmonico fine apparel and accessories and fresh, preservative-free chocolate by Verē.

Vic Mignogna, born August 27, 1962 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, is an American Anime Award winning voice actor and musician who has done voice work for many anime series, movies, and video games. Mignogna is best known for his dub role of Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Broly in Dragon Ball Z films, Tamaki Suoh in Ouran High School Host Club, Fai D. Flourite in "Tsubasa Chronicle", Ikkaku Madarame in Bleach and Dark Mousy in D.N.Angel. He's also the voice of Zero Kiryu and Ichiru Kiryu in Vampire Knight. Recently he has done the voices for Spirit in Soul Eater, Yoshimori in Kekkaishi, Nagato and Fuen in Naruto Shippuden and E-123 Omega in Sonic Colors.

This billboard provides an interesting example of the images used to sell to modern Chinese consumers in cities. Audrey Hepburn may seem an interesting choice to advertise green tea to the Chinese, but in a 2004 poll, she was chosen by the Chinese public as the best representation of natural beauty. Many other ads seen on the street in Chinese cities portray more Western-featured models, as well as celebrities from outside China.

Sunglass hut... the sunglasses retail company is back to publicity tricks using the good old fashioned celebrity sells... in this case with Mick Jagger's daughter, Georgia May Jagger, and friends, aboard a floating product promotional boat on Sydney Harbour. Not a bad combo and it achieved the goal - free headlines.

Looking at Georgia May Jagger, it’s impossible to miss the shades on her famous parents. Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. Some press is saying she’s the very best blend of her parents’ charisma and good looks. Ah, the benefits of being a famous offspring... and good work opportunities often come your way including product promotions.

In Australia on a promotional tour with Sunglass Hut, she stars in their current advertising campaign with boyfriend musician and model, Josh McClennan. She told Fairfax Media "We’d never worked together before – so it was an interesting experience. Kind of a laugh seeing your boyfriend posing – we had a lot of fun", she said. Guest stars at tonight’s A-list party aboard the Sunglass Hut floating store, they are checking out the sights of Sydney "We’re climbing the Harbour Bridge today, we’ve seen sharks at the aquarium and we’re in love with Bondi Beach".

Georgia is a hot, smart and music appreciating Brit. "There was always music in the house growing up – I love all kinds from blues through to rock 'n' roll. I tried the violin and guitar when I was young, but never really learned to play…and my Mum doesn’t play anything either."

Georgia May is familiar with the modeling and advertising world with cosmetic contracts, major advertising campaigns and her fair share of magazine covers including UK Vogue, UK Elle and this month’s Australian Harper's Bazaar. Yes, we know its got something to do with her famous parents, but good luck to her. That's the world and that's the business. "I’m really trying to have fun with it [modeling]. Obviously, I enjoy the travelling and getting to meet people from all over the world. It’s wild to be working in London one day and then in Australia the next – I just want to keep doing it for as long as I can".

After modeling, she hopes to move into a career in photography. She mentions her mum's Helmut Newtown pictures as inspiration. "I was at university before my career took off and my plan is to be a photographer – my dream would be to travel and take pictures" she said.

When it comes to style, the model is a fan of Vivienne Westwood – she’s the face of the new Westwood jewellery line – and has a try-anything-once approach to fashion. And what about her father’s closet – has she managed to get her hands on any of Dad’s iconic threads? “My sister [Lizzie] has a lot because she’s got the tall skinny figure. I do have one thing of my Dad’s that he doesn’t know I’ve got it and if he did he’d want it back immediately…for a museum".

Sunglass Hut floating store is moored in Darling Harbour, Sydney from November 15 - 18. 10 per cent of all profits from the Floating Store will be donated to OneSight, a leading global vision care charity.

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) has been involved in incredible environmental outreach services since 1972. Though they do an amazing job on their own of educating curious world citizens through their extensive and detailed website and programs, various celebrities have volunteered to stand alongside them to support their cause.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and Academy Award nominee, Don Cheadle have both been appointed as ambassadors for UNEP, exuding great effort to help bring awareness and support to the important work UNEP is doing.

Loyal Studios in Santa Monica was proud to lend its studio to Bundchen and Cheadle, having had previously worked with Cheadle on a commercial in January, 2011–co-produced by Loyal Studios owner, Bob Bekian.

Their relationship continued when Cheadle formally asked Bekian to co-produce a spot for UNEP. Bekian happily donated his Santa Monica facility and production services, equipment, and crew for the project in support of Cheadle and Bundchen, and their cause.

“The added bonus was working with Gisele.” Bekian states. “She is super cool, very down-to-earth, and genuinely a nice person.” The shoot ran flawlessly, and everyone enjoyed the experience of working with such incredibly talented and kind artists. “Our goal is to make professional production fun,” Bekian says, “and we want to do our part to help our world become a better place.”

The UNEP’s mission statement is, “To provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.”

Gisele, Don Cheadle, and Loyal Studios are focused on putting the word out on the importance of caring about what we use our Earth for, while working in conjunction with our natural ecosystems to create a sustainable green economy.

Mikey Georgeson is a painter, writer, singer, performer, college lecturer, and movie maker. He sings and performs as ‘Vessel’ for the vaudevillian rock band David Devant and His Spirit Wife, as well as Mr. Solo. One of Mikey’s paintings, ‘Dopamine – Molecule of Intuition’, bubbled brightly in a recent John Moore’s show at Liverpool’s Walker Art Gallery. He describes his own work as ‘tragicomic’. The publication Art-Shaped described his solo exhibition ‘Trope’ at Liverpool’s Royal Standard gallery as exploring ‘how the artist approaches the tension between art object and life’ and Double Negative found ‘irresistible joy and warmth’ in the paintings.

Anna Barlow is fascinated by the culture of celebrational food and of how food tells a story of the people it’s for and place it’s in. A full stand of melting ice creams could suggest a hot day or treats abandoned for some mysterious reason.
Anna’s work is the result of long research into techniques, texture and glaze. Her methods are a combination of hand-building, slip-casting and press moulding and she uses both porcelain and earthenware. The techniques create a ‘visual edibility’ to the work; it is up to the imagination of the viewers to decide how it will taste…

Stevie Wonder was the headline act tonight, as he performed to an intimate audience of 2000 patrons, paying between 5 to 5 to see the music legend close up.

Around the corner on the red carpet, news media waited for the celebs. The name listed included Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall, Kate Richie and Stuart Webb, Wendell Sailor and wife Tara, Ricki-Lee Coulter and boyfriend Richard Harrison. Does anyone know how much the celebs are getting paid to turn up to Star invites, or is it just a win - win, all done to generate positive media buzz?

Finally, after what seemed like hours for Russell Crowe and beautiful wife, Danielle Spencer did the red, fresh off dinner at the revamped casino aka integrated entertainment complex.

For the record, Stevie Wonder did not do the red carpet. Promoters across Australia, if not the world, are attempting to find out how much money Mr Wonder is making for his intimate appearances at The Star, and that's likely to be something that is kept well under wraps for a while yet.

The Star may be a bit of a media darling at the moment, but nothing lasts forever. The Star would do well to go out of their way to also impress news media who have been quite supportive of the Echo Entertainment owned complex, since they first announced it was going to get a massive makeover.

We've heard that the next trump card for more news headlines will be the official opening of The Darling, the 5 star boutique lifestyle hotel and spa.

Just how long it may take The Star to recoup its almost billion dollar casino revamp investment is unknown, but Echo Entertainment looks to be in this for the long haul, so good on them.
